Backup your data to an USB External Hard Drive

Most modern computers still have only one internal physical hard drive where users store their information, programs and applications. Keep in mind that the operating system may show multiple virtual disks, volumes, folders, etc... but usually they are only the reflection of different partitions/divisions of the same single drive. Therefore, a failure of that internal disk will result in the lost of all data even if illusory scattered over multiple locations. The best and cheapest solution is to periodically backup all (or at least the most import) data to an USB (Universal Serial Bus) external drive. The recent decrement on these devices' prices and increment on reliability and easy of use make them an excellent choice to all person independently of their tech knowledge or budget.

The constant threats and working conditions buy cause the failure of your internal hard drive. Internet exposes the computer systems to threats that include spyware bots, viruses, worms, root kits and Trojan horses that may cripple definitively your data. So even if virtually protected by an antivirus and firewall programs, it is almost impossible to protect the computer systems from these dangers. Moreover, the online threats are increasingly dramatical and are currently the most serious threat to your value data and information. And, of course, don't forget the naive and unintentional deletion if data. All of these, creates the vital necessity to frequently backup your data externally to computer. And in extreme case, the hard drive can be powered off when online to avoid any Internet threat.

The are many devices to archive data safely, however, they are expensive and only recommended to professionals or have limited capacity, like DVD and Blu-Ray writable disks. The modern Internet user have an huge storage space requirements and constantly increasing due to DVD burning, video and music downloads and pictures. The only affordable solution to a standard user is an External USB hard drive. USB external drives allow basic plug & play and is also portable. The external drive may be easily connected to any computer and any OS (Windows, MAC or Linux) and easy stored or transported to other location. Never forget the physical disasters (house fires, floods, earth quakes) that may destroy all your equipment if stored together. USB external drives make easy to transfer large volume of critical (and not so critical) data from your office to your home, or between your laptop and desktop.
